Embedded Software Engineering Manager, Rosemount Flowmeters

Lead embedded software strategy and global engineering teams for Emerson’s Rosemount flowmeters. Drive secure, connected measurement solutions for industrial automation.

Description

  • Lead software strategy and development for next-generation Rosemount Magnetic and Vortex Flowmeters
  • Provide technical and organizational leadership across complex embedded software products and systems
  • Lead domestic and global engineering teams in defining software architecture and coding practices
  • Address sensor processing, communications, diagnostics, functional safety, and cybersecurity requirements
  • Develop multi-year plans, technical program objectives, cost and schedule requirements, and project recommendations
  • Coordinate technical and administrative matters with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams
  • Develop technical proposals and represent Emerson before standards organizations
  • Manage technical policies and procedures while ensuring complete, timely software documentation
  • Approve or author software requirements and specifications
  • Provide company-wide technical guidance and coach and develop the Rosemount Flow software team
  • Advance requirements management, CI/CD, secure development lifecycle, and AI-assisted development practices with DevSecOps and New Product Development excellence teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science from an engineering school; an ABET-accredited engineering degree is preferred
  • At least 10 years of related software engineering experience, including leadership of complex product development from concept through release
  • At least two years of leadership experience in an industrial or technology organization
  • Familiarity with MISRA coding standards, version control, defect tracking, and requirements management tools including Jama, DOORS, and Azure DevOps
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%
  • U.S. work authorization required; visa sponsorship is not provided
  • Master’s degree in software engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science preferred
  • SAFe SPC or RTE certification or rollout experience preferred
  • Experience with flow measurement, process instrumentation, industrial sensors, embedded product development, functional safety, secure development lifecycle practices, DevOps, CI/CD, and industrial communication protocols preferred
