Embedded Engineer (C, STM32) - Onsite in Gdansk, Poland

Develop C firmware for STM32-based wired and wireless security devices at Kidde Global Solutions. Build secure embedded systems from initial concept through global mass production.

Description

  • Create C firmware for wired and wireless security devices.
  • Implement communication features with RS485 and wireless technologies.
  • Develop software for bare-metal, RTOS-based, and embedded Linux systems.
  • Build firmware for STM32 security devices.
  • Implement secure device communication and firmware update functionality.
  • Improve device performance, memory usage, power efficiency, and reliability.
  • Support products designed to meet professional security standards, including EN50131 Grade 3.
  • Help develop reusable embedded platforms for multiple product families.
  • Contribute to firmware design discussions and work with senior engineers on technical solutions.
  • Debug embedded systems, investigate issues, and identify root causes.
  • Work with Hardware, QA, Product Management, Compliance, and Cybersecurity teams throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Support verification, validation, certification, and manufacturing activities.
  • Take part in code reviews and improve development practices continuously.
  • Share knowledge with global engineering teams and promote consistent implementation.
  • Contribute to products from concept through global mass production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Software Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least three years of embedded firmware development experience.
  • Proficiency in C programming.
  • Experience with ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers.
  • Knowledge of bare-metal or RTOS-based embedded development.
  • Experience debugging embedded systems with standard development tools.
  • Knowledge of embedded communication interfaces and protocols.
  • Familiarity with Git and collaborative software development practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective collaboration skills in cross-functional teams.
  • Good written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Willingness to relocate to Gdansk.
