Director, Cancer Research Group Leader

Lead BeOne Institute research teams and strategy to advance cancer discoveries and translate scientific innovation into new medicines.

Description

  • Lead a research team to pursue significant scientific discoveries.
  • Shape and implement research strategy in line with BeOne Institute’s mission.
  • Create a collaborative environment that turns new ideas into medicines.
  • Set program objectives and measurable milestones.
  • Uphold scientific rigor and ensure research is delivered effectively.
  • Share regular updates on research progress.
  • Spot emerging challenges early and recommend solutions.
  • Recruit and develop a strong research team.
  • Support team members’ career development, technical skills, and scientific independence.
  • Direct collaborations across scientific disciplines and organizational functions.
  • Advance innovation within the Institute and through its external work.
  • Offer scientific direction and mentorship.

Requirements

  • Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent advanced degree, with deep expertise in cancer biology, cancer immunology, immunology, protein engineering, AI-driven protein design, or a related life sciences field.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience after earning the degree, including postdoctoral and/or industry research.
  • Demonstrated contributions to drug discovery or other significant scientific achievements.
  • Substantial post-degree professional experience in academia and/or industry.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced, interdisciplinary research setting.
  • Ability to combine methods from multiple disciplines to solve complex biological problems.
  • Scientific leadership skills to build and maintain partnerships across functions and disciplines.
  • Experience offering scientific guidance and mentorship within a collaborative team.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to explain complex scientific ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
