Data Architect / Database Administrator - Hybrid

Description

  • Own the enterprise data architecture roadmap and align it with business goals.
  • Build logical and physical data models for current and future enterprise applications.
  • Set enterprise data management standards, principles, and recommended practices.
  • Maintain data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and supporting documentation.
  • Create scalable architectures for ERP, PLM, manufacturing systems, and reporting platforms.
  • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to align data structures with operational and strategic needs.
  • Lead the organisation's data governance framework and strategy.
  • Define enterprise data policies, standards, controls, and operating procedures.
  • Establish ownership, stewardship, and accountability for critical business data.

  • Oversee migration into PLM, ERP, engineering repositories, manufacturing systems, business systems, and reporting and analytics platforms.
  • Design and support integrations across ERP, PLM, CRM, manufacturing, quality, and reporting systems.
  • Set data exchange standards and interface requirements.
  • Support API, ETL, middleware, and broader data integration initiatives.
  • Enable dependable reporting and analytics by maintaining trusted data sources and reporting datasets.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Quality, Manufacturing, and IT.
  • Act as the lead data subject matter expert for business transformation projects.
  • Advise on data risks, dependencies, and opportunities.
  • Promote workplace health and safety, report hazards and incidents, and complete required training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Substantial experience in data architecture, database administration, data management, or a comparable field.
  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise-scale data migration programmes.
  • Strong experience implementing ERP platforms, preferably SAP or an equivalent system.
  • Experience delivering and supporting Product Lifecycle Management solutions.
  • Working knowledge of Master Data Management and data governance frameworks and practices.
  • Understanding of data structures and models used in engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain operations.
  • Experience directing data cleansing, validation, and transformation work.
  • Strong grasp of data modelling, governance, master data management, and data quality principles.
  • Familiarity with database and cloud data technologies such as SQL Server, MySQL, Azure SQL, or similar platforms.
  • Proven experience with data integration, migration, and transformation, including ETL and API-based integrations.
  • Understanding of enterprise business platforms, including ERP and PLM systems.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and project delivery skills, with the ability to lead change and continuous improvement.
  • Strategic, analytical, and detail-oriented approach with strong problem-solving ability.
  • Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools is desirable.
  • Must be a British Citizen or already have the right to work in the UK.
  • Able to work in secure, regulated settings requiring confidentiality, integrity, thorough documentation, and disciplined processes.
  • Willingness to undertake occasional travel within the UK.
  • Full, valid UK driving licence.
  • Eligible to obtain Security Clearance, including five years' UK residence.
  • Must have UK work permission by the employment start date and provide proof of identity and eligibility.
  • All applicants must achieve at least Baseline Personnel Security Standard clearance.
