Cost and Contract Manager - Hull, Onsite

Lead commercial strategy, NEC4 contract management, and project cost control for Associated British Ports’ major infrastructure and energy-transition investments across the Humber.

Description

  • Lead cost and contract management for major infrastructure projects
  • Shape commercial strategy across high-value construction programmes
  • Negotiate and administer NEC4 contracts for Associated British Ports
  • Control commercial risk and protect value throughout project delivery
  • Support procurement activity and supplier selection
  • Advise senior stakeholders and project delivery teams on commercial matters
  • Manage costs and contracts across the complete project lifecycle, from business case development and procurement strategy through delivery, administration, commercial close-out, and final account resolution
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, procurement specialists, legal advisers, and external consultants
  • Oversee consultants, contractors, and key supply chain partners
  • Support infrastructure, trade, and renewable-energy projects across the Humber

Requirements

  • Extensive cost, commercial, and contract management experience in major infrastructure, civil engineering, marine, or maritime projects
  • Demonstrated ability to manage commercial activities across the full project lifecycle
  • Substantial experience creating and executing commercial and contract strategies
  • Advanced capability in cost planning, forecasting, benchmarking, risk management, and commercial reporting
  • Expert working knowledge and practical experience administering NEC4 contracts
  • Experience drafting, negotiating, and managing complex contracts and commercial agreements
  • Experience contributing to and influencing procurement strategies and outcomes
  • Ability to oversee consultants, contractors, and key supply chain partners
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and communication abilities
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related subject, or equivalent experience
  • Professional qualification such as MRICS or an equivalent credential
  • Successful completion of pre-employment Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) screening
  • Willingness to undergo random substance-abuse screening and a pre-employment medical
  • Residence in the Humber region and availability to travel to project sites across the Humber area up to three days per week
