Clinical Inquiry Specialist Genetic Counselor - Abbott Remote
Provide clinical genetic counseling expertise for Abbott’s precision oncology products in a remote U.S. role. Support inquiries, test interpretation, education, client engagement, and genomic testing initiatives.
Description
- Respond to clinical, technical, and scientific questions from internal and external clients about precision oncology products.
- Advise laboratory staff and molecular geneticists on accessioning, test-order changes, and results interpretation.
- Partner with molecular geneticists and cross-functional teams to deliver accurate, timely test results.
- Create marketing materials and website content in support of marketing and business development.
- Represent the company at scientific meetings and industry conferences while building relationships with genetic counselors.
- Develop educational resources and present information to clients and the public.
- Complete continuing education to retain professional certification.
- Coordinate the intake and implementation of special projects.
- Handle specialized responsibilities beyond standard genetic counselor duties.
- Support the training of genetic counseling assistants.
- Follow department protocols and escalate identified issues to the Clinical Inquiry Specialist Manager.
- Adhere to the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures.
- Reflect the company’s mission and values in daily work.
- Maintain consistent and dependable attendance.
- Work in standard office settings and genetic testing laboratory areas.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in genetic counseling.
- ABGC or CCGC board certification, or eligibility for certification.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- At least two years of experience in an oncology genetics clinical role.
- Experience with multiple oncology genomic technologies, including tumor NGS, ctDNA, and molecular residual disease assays.
- Broad and in-depth knowledge of human genetics.
- General knowledge of personalized healthcare, clinical genetics, laboratory medicine, and informatics.
- Ability to explain complex information to diverse audiences.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service capabilities.
- Excellent verbal, nonverbal, and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to perform essential duties with or without accommodation.
- Ability to work the designated schedule.
- Visual, hearing, and physical capacity to complete laboratory and computer-based tasks.
