Client Design and Engineering Lead - Peterborough (Hybrid)

Lead design, constructability and technical assurance for Anglian Water’s major UK reservoir infrastructure programme. Shape governance, partner collaboration and long-term water resilience outcomes.

Description

  • Direct strategic oversight of engineering, design and constructability workstreams
  • Help establish programme design strategies, delivery processes and technical requirements
  • Assess and approve critical engineering outputs and deliverables for Anglian Water
  • Protect technical integrity across scope, schedule, cost and prioritisation decisions
  • Resolve complex engineering risks and technical challenges
  • Represent Anglian Water and Cambridge Water in programme governance and external engagement
  • Collaborate with regulators, environmental organisations, utility providers and strategic partners
  • Promote health, safety and design risk reduction throughout the programme
  • Set technical direction across a complex engineering, design and constructability portfolio
  • Oversee and provide assurance for the Programme Delivery Partner’s design and engineering function

Requirements

  • Demonstrated engineering leadership on major infrastructure programmes or Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs)
  • Deep technical expertise in a relevant field, such as dam engineering, river engineering or similarly complex infrastructure
  • A recognised degree in engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience leading consultancy partners and major engineering contracts
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including work with regulators and external partners
  • Ability to balance technical quality with programme objectives and commercial priorities
