Claims Executive (P&I and FDD) – Hybrid in Greece

Manage P&I and FDD claims, shipping disputes, and complex Defence matters for Steamship Mutual. Support Members across Greece, Switzerland, Europe, and the Middle East within a global P&I insurance business.

Description

  • Build strong relationships between the Club and its existing Members
  • Manage assigned P&I and FDD claims in line with company procedures
  • Advise on claims matters and identify opportunities for loss prevention
  • Handle varied P&I issues and a significant Defence caseload, including complex and high-value cases
  • Manage claims independently while consulting the Syndicate Manager or Claims Directors when needed
  • File electronic correspondence accurately and promptly, keeping assigned claim files up to date
  • Delegate suitable work and help develop Syndicate Assistants' capabilities
  • Help improve company procedures and systems on an ongoing basis
  • Write relevant articles for Club publications
  • Support the objectives of Syndicate Underwriting
  • Complete relevant training and continue developing professional knowledge and skills
  • Undertake other assigned and ad hoc duties as required

Requirements

  • Prior experience handling shipping litigation and dispute resolution at a P&I club, insurer, law firm, ship owner, or ship agent
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation, presentation, and reporting
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Highly organised, motivated, and enthusiastic, with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to produce high-quality work within agreed deadlines and manage competing priorities
  • Fluent Greek and English, with excellent written and spoken proficiency in both languages
  • Proactive approach with the ability to work independently and use initiative
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team
