Civil Engineer – Rail Infrastructure | Arcadis | Bristol Hybrid

Join Arcadis as a Civil Engineer supporting sustainable rail and multidisciplinary infrastructure projects in a hybrid Bristol role. Create BIM-enabled technical deliverables for UK projects while developing toward Chartered Engineer status.

Description

  • Contribute to civil and structural design work across rail and wider infrastructure projects
  • Produce calculations, drawings, specifications, reports and other technical deliverables
  • Use 3D design and BIM tools, including AECOSim, Revit and Civil 3D, throughout project delivery
  • Maintain project information within a Common Data Environment
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to address technical issues and coordinate design solutions
  • Support documentation that helps achieve programme, budget and quality targets
  • Take part in site visits and surveys, including activities in rail environments
  • Build effective working relationships with clients, colleagues and project stakeholders
  • Apply company processes and meet health, safety and welfare requirements
  • Strengthen technical, professional and project delivery capability through mentoring, training and practical experience

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Student or Graduate membership of ICE or IStructE
  • Background in civil or structural design, preferably within a consultancy
  • Any experience in the rail sector is beneficial
  • Progress toward Chartered Engineer status through ICE or IStructE
  • Experience with civil engineering design software for producing technical deliverables
  • Understanding of BIM principles and experience using a Common Data Environment
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Proficiency with IT tools, including Microsoft Office
  • Proactive, collaborative and focused on delivering results
  • Commitment to ongoing professional learning and development
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within the UK
