Civil Engineer III - Orlando, FL (Onsite)

Description

  • Contribute to water resources, land development, and transportation projects
  • Help manage related design projects and technical studies
  • Create site layout, grading, drainage, and erosion-control plans
  • Design stormwater management, flood mitigation, and water quality systems
  • Design and coordinate water, wastewater, and utility infrastructure
  • Develop roadway, multimodal, access, and site circulation systems
  • Build hydrologic and hydraulic models for stormwater systems
  • Produce drainage studies, stormwater master plans, and supporting technical reports
  • Evaluate and design municipal neighborhood improvements, including stormwater facilities, roads, sidewalks, utilities, and related site work
  • Prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, and construction documents
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary design activities and conduct quality control for models, calculations, reports, and plans
  • Assist with permitting and coordination involving local, state, and federal agencies

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering; a water resources engineering focus is preferred
  • Florida Professional Engineer license required, or eligibility to obtain one through reciprocity
  • At least six years of experience designing civil engineering projects in water resources, land development, and/or transportation
  • Knowledge of infrastructure, site, and roadway design principles and plan preparation
  • Experience with site layout, grading, drainage, erosion control, utilities, and permitting
  • Experience designing roadway geometry, access, multimodal facilities, and site circulation
  • Advanced knowledge of hydrology, hydraulics, stormwater management, and water quality design
  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling; StormWise and ICPR experience preferred
  • Ability to manage or independently deliver multidisciplinary design tasks and projects
  • Excellent technical writing ability
  • Strong verbal communication, computer, and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to travel throughout the Baxter & Woodman service area using personal transportation
  • AutoCAD experience required; Civil 3D preferred and ArcGIS experience advantageous
