Description

  • Set and drive OleOle’s long-term technical architecture
  • Lead backend architecture and infrastructure strategy across Rust-based systems
  • Develop scalable infrastructure for feeds, messaging, live updates, video, and data services
  • Direct technical decisions across backend, frontend, infrastructure, and product systems
  • Collaborate with leadership on product direction and broader company strategy
  • Build the engineering culture, hiring framework, and technical delivery processes
  • Work alongside engineers on architecture reviews, tradeoffs, and implementation choices
  • Help design financial systems covering rewards, wallets, payments, and crypto-related capabilities
  • Support AI initiatives for translation, recommendations, search, and football-history data
  • Maintain scalability, reliability, performance, and security across the technology stack
  • Build and launch the football-focused social network and super app with the engineering team
  • Potentially grow into a co-founder-level role

Requirements

  • Bring 7–15+ years of software engineering and technical leadership experience, preferably in startups or high-growth consumer technology
  • Demonstrate strong hands-on expertise in architecture, systems design, and production codebases
  • Have substantial experience building and scaling consumer platforms with real-time systems, high concurrency, and significant user engagement
  • Bring strong production Rust experience developing asynchronous backend services and distributed infrastructure
  • Understand backend architecture, APIs, event-driven systems, databases, caching, and scalable infrastructure design in depth
  • Have experience with social feeds, microblogging, messaging, real-time communication, short-form video infrastructure, financial or wallet systems, AI consumer products, or large-scale SEO and content platforms
  • Make practical technical tradeoffs across scalability, performance, delivery speed, maintainability, and operational simplicity
  • Lead and mentor engineering teams while staying technically involved in implementation
  • Work effectively in fast-changing startup settings with ambiguity, shifting priorities, and limited process
  • Communicate architectural decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Apply strong entrepreneurial judgment, ownership, and execution focus
  • Have personally designed and operated production systems at scale
  • Experience with Rust consumer platforms, distributed systems, event-driven architectures, feeds, messaging, streaming, recommendations, payments, crypto, wallets, gambling systems, AI infrastructure, search, or translation is a strong advantage
  • Startup leadership experience taking products from zero to one is a strong advantage
  • An established network in startup, venture capital, or fundraising circles is a strong advantage
  • A passion for football, sports media, or global fan communities is a strong advantage
