Broadcast Engineer Apprentice - Pittsburgh, PA

Train in broadcast engineering through rotations covering fiber optics, copper cabling, systems integration, and field-shop operations. Build practical experience supporting NEP’s live productions and events.

Description

  • Rotate through Field Shop activities such as equipment preparation, troubleshooting, maintenance, shop operations, and technical procedures
  • Handle, terminate, test, troubleshoot, and maintain fiber-optic systems
  • Work with copper cabling, connectors, terminations, testing, and broadcast signal infrastructure
  • Work with camera-support equipment, panheads, tripods, and basic electrical and power-distribution systems
  • Install, wire, configure, document, test, and troubleshoot equipment within Systems Integration
  • Apply technical knowledge with experienced NEP engineers during live-production Systems Integration road assignments
  • Develop broadcast engineering skills while supporting complex productions and live events

Requirements

  • An associate or technical degree in broadcast communications, electronics, engineering, or a related technical discipline is preferred
  • Formal training or practical experience in electronics, broadcast technology, cabling, or IP networking is preferred
  • Demonstrated technical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to learn new technologies and technical systems quickly
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
  • Willingness and ability to relocate after successfully completing the program
  • Ability to travel extensively, potentially up to 100%, based on the assigned role and business unit
  • Must relocate to the designated home location of the assigned business unit upon successful program completion
