Bilingual Communications Specialist – Ottawa Hybrid

Create financial education and public awareness content for Credit Counselling Society, a Canadian nonprofit helping people manage financial challenges. Produce media, digital, and social communications that connect with Canadians.

Description

  • Represent CCS through clear communications that connect its work with Canadian audiences
  • Apply financial industry knowledge to develop written communications materials
  • Produce blog posts, media pitches, press releases, brochures, presentations, video scripts, and social media content
  • Build public awareness, audience engagement, and financial knowledge
  • Contribute to the organization’s marketing and awareness strategy
  • Work with the Marketing & Community Engagement team

Requirements

  • Fluent written and spoken English and French
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field
  • Three to five years of experience in personal finance or credit
  • Two to three years of experience in communications, writing, or journalism
  • Media relations experience is an asset
  • Excellent verbal communication and outstanding writing ability
  • Strong interpersonal skills with close attention to detail
  • Highly organized and self-directed
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Advanced proficiency with office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher
  • Familiarity with and interest in social platforms such as X, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, and TikTok
  • Eligible to work in Canada
