Description

  • Source and secure content for the Golazo Network and related productions, including press conferences, interviews, and highlights
  • Monitor CBS Sports platforms for news and respond quickly to breaking developments and coverage requests
  • Track emerging stories and collect material to support editorial storytelling
  • Suggest story ideas and recommend content for soccer programming
  • Anticipate coverage challenges and develop practical solutions
  • Engage freelance ENG crews and manage their operational requirements
  • Follow applicable content-rights and clearance policies
  • Coordinate coverage logistics while meeting tight deadlines
  • Create schedules and calendars for soccer events and associated coverage
  • Keep producers informed about content availability and program requirements
  • Collect fiber, satellite, streaming, and other transmission details
  • Partner with media asset management teams to record and archive games and other content
  • Coordinate live and taped material with remote production teams
  • Collaborate with editorial, Legal, and Business Affairs teams on content, rights, and clearance matters

Requirements

  • Broad knowledge of soccer across multiple leagues
  • Demonstrated expertise in fiber, satellite, cellular, FTP, and viral newsgathering workflows
  • Strong organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once
  • Experience using internet research and electronic newsgathering methods, including sound social media practices
  • Sound editorial judgment and resourceful content-research skills
  • Understanding of sports-media production and content creation for television, digital video, or social platforms
  • Availability for nights, weekends, and flexible working hours
  • Ability to perform under pressure, meet deadlines, and prioritize competing assignments
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, writing, and communication abilities
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and contribute to a team environment
  • Experience collaborating across departments
  • Demonstrated ability to respond constructively to feedback under deadline pressure
  • At least two years of experience in television or digital production
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, or equivalent training and experience
  • Sports journalism experience is advantageous
