Description

  • Create breaking-news and evergreen food articles
  • Write, edit, and build stories in the content management system
  • Verify facts and rewrite copy when necessary
  • Review copy for accuracy, clarity, and correctness
  • Pitch, develop, and write new story ideas
  • Edit, produce, and publish work for the new content team
  • Participate in content meetings when needed
  • Occasionally assign stories to staff or freelance writers

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • At least three years of food and beverage writing and editing experience, preferably with a digital brand
  • News experience, particularly in editing, is strongly preferred
  • Broad knowledge of cooking, recipes, and global cuisines
  • Excellent writing and editing abilities
  • Working knowledge of SEO principles and implementation
  • Ability to follow an established brand voice and detailed style standards
  • Comfort using content management systems
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently, efficiently, and accurately
  • Ability to work remotely and attend an office occasionally, approximately once or twice per year
  • Approximately 5% travel required
