Airbus High-Voltage Electrical Systems Engineering Intern - Toulouse

Join Airbus in Toulouse to assess high-voltage non-propagation within commercial aircraft electrical networks. Model failure scenarios and validate critical electrical conditions through laboratory testing.

Description

  • Assess the IT network’s effectiveness as a barrier against high-voltage propagation
  • Investigate the causes of high-voltage propagation originating within high-voltage equipment
  • Define failure modes and, when required, calculate associated probabilities with the Safety team
  • Identify key influencing factors through analysis of the future Single Aisle electrical architecture
  • When applicable, model voltage transfer between earthing systems across low-voltage networks
  • Validate critical scenarios in the laboratory against engineering assessments and simulation results
  • Contribute to Airbus Commercial Aircraft’s Electrical Systems Engineering department
  • Collaborate with Safety, Power Quality, and other multidisciplinary teams
  • Work with a tutor to build relevant skills and progress toward professional objectives

Requirements

  • Currently completing a final-year engineering program or preparing a Bac+5 or Master’s degree
  • Specializing in electronics, electrical engineering, power electronics, or a related discipline
  • Strong knowledge of component parameters
  • Experience modeling electronic or power-electronic systems and analyzing their impact
  • A clear interest in systems engineering
  • A proactive, independent working style
  • Strong analytical and synthesis abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Advanced or fluent English is required
  • French is beneficial but not required for international candidates
  • Security clearance or eligibility for clearance from recognized authorities
  • Available for an internship required to complete a degree

Benefits

  • Flexible working arrangements where feasible
  • Dedicated tutor support throughout the internship
  • Hands-on development in electrical architecture and grounding or bonding networks
  • Experience with system modeling and simulation
  • Exposure to functional safety practices
  • Development in complex systems engineering
  • Strengthening of critical thinking and scientific rigor
  • Improved technical communication in a multidisciplinary setting
