AI and Data Controls Management Specialist - Hybrid

Vanguard seeks an AI and data controls specialist to build, assess, and test governance frameworks. The role turns AI, model, and data risks into measurable controls, reporting, and remediation plans.

Description

  • Own the identification, design, documentation, implementation, and testing of controls throughout the AI and data lifecycle
  • Establish AI and data control objectives, risk-to-control mappings, and supporting procedures
  • Evaluate governance frameworks, uncover control gaps, recommend improvements, and lead remediation efforts
  • Provide consultative and analytical guidance on AI and data risk and control topics
  • Work with stakeholders to improve control alignment, assist with audits, and reduce risk
  • Direct controls monitoring and testing, including effectiveness reviews, attribute-level testing, and control health reporting
  • Create management reports and dashboards covering control effectiveness, issue status, monitoring results, and remediation progress in platforms such as Archer
  • Develop cross-functional partnerships and convert technical AI, model, and data risks into practical control requirements
  • Advise stakeholders on AI and data governance expectations, control design principles, and evolving regulatory and industry developments
  • Contribute to special projects and complete other assigned responsibilities

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience in risk management, controls, compliance, audit, governance, technology risk, model risk management, data governance, or a related field
  • Background identifying risks, designing controls, documenting frameworks, and implementing control solutions in complex business or technology settings
  • Experience creating risk-to-control mappings, control objectives, narratives, standards, procedures, and testing methodologies
  • Practical experience or strong knowledge of AI risk, model risk, data governance, data privacy, technology risk, or related governance areas
  • Working familiarity with NIST AI RMF, EU AI Act, CDMC, COBIT, NIST, or comparable industry standards
  • Experience designing, documenting, assessing, or testing controls in Archer, ServiceNow GRC, or a similar GRC platform
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • This position does not offer visa sponsorship
