Actuarial Manager, Long-Tail Claims – TD Toronto Hybrid

Lead actuarial and business insights teams focused on long-tail claims for TD Insurance. Provide dashboards, reporting, and strategic analysis to business partners and executives.

Description

  • Lead and develop actuarial and business insights analysts focused on interpreting long-tail claims data.
  • Manage high-priority, non-routine initiatives involving long-tail claims.
  • Create innovative dashboards in partnership with relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present recurring reports.
  • Produce detailed analyses of the financial and operational performance of long-tail claims for partners and executives.
  • Direct complete analytics and insight engagements from initial request through reporting, analysis, and presentation.
  • Manage stakeholders while cultivating effective relationships with key partners and executives.
  • Provide people leadership, oversee development plans, and support strategies to attract, motivate, and retain diverse, qualified, engaged employees.
  • Present analytical findings and reports to partners and executives throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in statistics, mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • At least 8 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in claims operations or reserving is an asset.
  • Advanced programming skills in SQL and Python.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with consistent attention to quality.
  • Demonstrated creativity and initiative in improving efficiency and outcomes.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to motivate, guide, advise, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Effective collaboration with colleagues, business partners, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead change and influence stakeholders across organizational levels.
  • Employment is subject to applicable provincial regulations in Canada.
