- Create, document, and continuously refine reference architectures.
- Establish reusable architecture standards, components, and building blocks.
- Define integrations, assumptions, constraints, and the drivers behind architectural decisions.
- Develop target architectures that support long-term technology evolution.
- Design transition architectures connecting the current environment to the desired state.
- Assess dependencies across applications, data, integration, security, infrastructure, and cloud domains.
- Perform technical studies to compare architectural options.
- Prepare technical assessments and recommendations for advancing reference architectures.
- Identify modernization patterns and approaches for legacy technology.
- Maintain diagrams, blueprints, catalogs, decision records, and related architecture documentation.
- Update architectural references as technology and organizational priorities change.
- Evaluate the effects of technology obsolescence and recommend architectural direction.
- Incorporate business needs and organizational strategy into architecture decisions.
- Encourage reuse of architectural capabilities and standards across initiatives.
- Help maintain consistency and alignment among architecture decisions.
- Provide technical guidance to teams that use and develop the architectural references.
