- Drive commercial deposit and loan growth against established objectives
- Develop new business through targeted sales activities across the market area
- Conduct sales calls and visit business customers, high-net-worth individuals, and prospective clients
- Tailor lending, deposit, and banking service solutions to customer needs
- Lead initiatives that support the growth of the Commercial Relationship Team
- Pursue business development opportunities with current and prospective clients
- Protect product quality, profitability, and growth through appropriate pricing and fee structures
- Manage a client portfolio while serving as a trusted banking consultant
- Use needs-based selling to attract, expand, and retain customer relationships
- Manage a substantial deposit portfolio with emphasis on acquiring low-cost deposits
- Manage and service a loan portfolio of at least $90 million
- Gather and evaluate financial statements and other relevant customer and prospect information
- Evaluate business viability, determine cash flow, and complete ongoing credit grading
- Identify and structure complex, high-value loan and deposit transactions
- Evaluate credit risk and profitability for complex opportunities
- Prepare and present proposals and supporting analysis to the Loan Committee
- Oversee portfolio quality, documentation, regulatory compliance, and collection activities
- Stay current on banking products, programs, services, and promotional offerings
- Use customer relationship management systems to document sales activity and prospect pipelines
- Follow internal controls, operating procedures, and risk management requirements
- Represent Ameris Bank at business development, networking, and community events
- Partner with other business lines to achieve shared objectives and support customers
- Apply ethical sales practices consistent with Ameris Bank’s core values

- At least 8 years of commercial banking experience or experience in a related field
- Prior leadership experience is preferred
- High school diploma or GED is required
- Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and related training or experience, is required
- Ability to analyze markets, identify prospects, and apply consultative, value-focused sales strategies
- Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed established performance targets
- Ability to negotiate, build consensus, respond to customer needs, deliver interactive service, develop collaborative relationships, and resolve conflict
- Strong professional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to plan, schedule, and organize work to achieve strategic objectives
- Ability to research and analyze information, identify viable options, draw conclusions, present findings, and recommend actions based on risk and impact
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Working knowledge of regulatory banking compliance policies and procedures
- Knowledge of cost accounting, financial analysis, and credit fundamentals
- Knowledge of internal banking policies, procedures, products, and services
- Knowledge of the applicable geographic market
