Mobile Fraud Analyst – Bucharest Hybrid
Investigate and prevent telecom fraud across Webbing’s global MVNO connectivity and IoT services. Analyze traffic, roaming, SIM, voice, SMS, and data activity for anomalies.

- Monitor mobile traffic for suspicious activity, unusual usage, and potential fraud.
- Investigate cases involving voice, SMS, data, roaming, SIM/eSIM, and international traffic.
- Detect telecom fraud patterns such as unusual calling, high-volume traffic, suspicious destinations, SIM misuse, and traffic pumping.
- Analyze CDRs and telecom usage records to find anomalies and suspicious behavior.
- Determine incident causes and identify affected subscribers, SIMs, devices, networks, and destinations.
- Assess the financial impact and exposure of fraud incidents.
- Develop and improve fraud detection rules, thresholds, alerts, and monitoring processes.
- Recommend and coordinate actions to block or restrict suspicious subscribers, SIMs, destinations, networks, or traffic patterns.
- Coordinate fraud investigations with Network, Roaming, Operations, Product, Finance, and other teams.
- Monitor fraud trends and identify emerging risks, vulnerabilities, and patterns.
- Report on fraud incidents, trends, financial exposure, and preventive actions.

- At least three years of experience in mobile or telecom fraud analysis, fraud prevention, or a similar role.
- Prior fraud-related work at a mobile network operator, MVNO, roaming provider, or telecommunications company is required.
- Strong understanding of mobile telecommunications, cellular traffic, and roaming environments.
- Experience investigating voice and SMS fraud.
- Knowledge of CAMEL, VoLTE, Diameter, OCS, and telecom charging systems.
- Experience working with CDRs and telecom usage data.
- Strong SQL and data analysis skills.
- Ability to analyze large traffic volumes and identify abnormal patterns and anomalies.
- Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage fraud investigations independently, from detection through root-cause analysis and mitigation.
- Strong attention to detail, ownership, and ability to respond quickly to critical fraud incidents.
- Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, OpenAI API, Claude, or Gemini.
- Strong English communication skills.
- Experience with international roaming fraud and wholesale telecom environments.
- Experience working with TAP files and roaming records.
- Familiarity with IMSI, ICCID, MSISDN, IMEI, MCC/MNC, VPLMN, and HPLMN.
- Experience with Telecom Fraud Management Systems (FMS).
- Experience with Python, Power BI, or other analytics and automation tools.
- Experience developing automated fraud detection, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms.
