Bilingual French Second Language Education Projects Officer

Lead French Second Language initiatives for Nova Scotia’s public schools from pre-primary through Grade 12. Coordinate curriculum and resource development, educator learning, assessment strategies, and inclusive French-language programming.

Tavsif

  • Contribute to the design, delivery, and evaluation of public school programs and initiatives.
  • Advise regional education centres, educators, universities, associations, organizations, government departments, and agencies.
  • Advance French Second Language education initiatives from pre-primary through Grade 12.
  • Coordinate curriculum renewal and develop educational resources in collaboration with partners.
  • Create and deliver research-based professional learning for educators.
  • Work with department branches to strengthen programming and expand virtual learning opportunities.
  • Help develop assessment strategies that support student achievement.
  • Develop research-informed resources for planning, teaching, and evaluation.
  • Support mentorship programs and professional networks for French Second Language educators.
  • Promote fair access to inclusive resources and cultural experiences that reflect Nova Scotia’s diversity.
  • Provide French-language materials for pre-primary classrooms.
  • Report to the Director of French Second Language Programs.

Talablar

  • Master’s degree in education or a related field.
  • At least eight years of teaching experience in a French Second Language setting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current French Second Language programs and education system structures.
  • Strong understanding of the Nova Scotia context.
  • Ability to apply current research to project design, content, and implementation.
  • Ability to plan, manage, and deliver projects on schedule while coordinating multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and build and sustain effective partnerships.
  • Excellent spoken and written French.
  • Strong English-language skills.
  • Proficiency with technology and/or Microsoft Office in a computerized environment for communication and instruction.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork skills and commitment to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
  • Successful background checks and verified credentials.
  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English.
