Tavsif

  • Review and approve compliance work prepared by team members, including PAYE and VAT registrations, payroll and RTI submissions, VAT returns and CIS returns.
  • Review year-end statutory accounts prepared under FRS 105, FRS 102 Section 1A and FRS 102, together with corporation tax returns.
  • Review Self Assessment tax returns for company directors.
  • Prepare complex or non-standard accounts and tax returns as required.
  • Manage an independent review queue for a high volume of clients, prioritising statutory deadlines and risk.
  • Provide constructive feedback to preparers to improve first-time quality.
  • Review bookkeeping records and bank reconciliations in Xero.
  • Respond to technical client queries and escalate complex or high-risk issues to the Accounting Manager.
  • Identify work beyond fixed-fee plans for scoping and billing.
  • Help clients meet Making Tax Digital requirements.
  • Create internal guidance, review checklists and templates.
  • Find opportunities to improve processes, tools and client education.

Talablar

  • ACA-, ACCA- or equivalent-qualified accountant with post-qualification experience.
  • Practice experience delivering compliance work for small and owner-managed limited companies.
  • Experience reviewing colleagues' work or readiness to progress into a reviewing position.
  • Strong technical understanding of FRS 105, FRS 102 Section 1A and FRS 102.
  • Working knowledge of corporation tax, VAT, PAYE, CIS and personal tax for small businesses.
  • Ability to manage high client volumes, competing deadlines and workload independently.
  • Commercial understanding of fixed-fee practice operations and the importance of efficiency.
  • Extensive practical experience using Xero.
  • Clear communicator who can explain financial matters to non-specialist business owners and provide constructive feedback.
  • Collaborative approach to working.
  • Right to work in the UK.
