Opis

  • Investigate liability for personal, casualty, and property losses and damages.
  • Assess and estimate vehicle and property damage.
  • Interview and correspond with clients, claimants, witnesses, medical specialists, and agents.
  • Collect and assess client, customer, legal, property, police, medical, and other supporting records.
  • Gather physical evidence and inspect properties.
  • Evaluate losses and pursue settlements when appropriate.
  • Review applications, contracts, policies, and coverage memoranda to determine coverage.
  • Set, monitor, and revise claim reserves.
  • Maintain claim records, reports, diaries, and files in CMIS.
  • Record case activity and prepare timely status reports for clients.
  • Gather evidence for claims contested in court.
  • Choose and oversee defense and coverage counsel and expert advisers.
  • Guide defense counsel in litigated matters and keep clients informed.
  • Provide technical guidance to less experienced adjusters.
  • Attend litigation hearings, settlement conferences, and mediations as needed.

Zahteve

  • A four-year college degree is preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of public entity liability claims handling.
  • At least five years of experience in insurance claims, self-insurance, pooled insurance, or Joint Powers Authorities (JPAs), including at least two years handling litigated claims.
  • Experience with claims management software or the ability to learn new claims systems quickly.
  • An adjuster license appropriate to the assigned jurisdiction, where required.
  • Liability claims familiarity and licensure in the New England or Tri-State area are preferred for the remote-work arrangement.
  • Ability to competently handle medium- to complex-level litigated and non-litigated claims.
