Financial Crimes Paralegal
Support Truist’s Financial Intelligence Unit by coordinating legal fulfillment work, including subpoenas, research, document review, and case workflows. Handle moderately complex legal matters with independent judgment and minimal supervision.

- Coordinate legal risk management activities for the Financial Intelligence Unit.
- Handle legal work across subpoenas, litigation, contracts, intellectual property, regulatory matters, corporate governance, complex lending, mergers and acquisitions, securities, trusts, insurance, tax, and employment matters.
- Resolve legal issues and transactions requiring substantial knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines.
- Investigate facts in moderately complex transactions and cases.
- Organize, review, and analyze large volumes of detailed information.
- Conduct moderately complex legal research and apply findings to case facts.
- Develop and communicate legal conclusions.
- Use the appropriate Financial Intelligence Unit management system effectively.
- Review contracts, pleadings, and other legal documents.
- Create, use, and manage processes for large, moderately complex transactions and cases.
- Design and maintain Financial Intelligence Unit workflows, reports, tools, and databases.
- Work with internal departments, internal and external clients, and outside counsel.
- Work with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment within established policies and guidelines.
- Meet continuing legal education requirements and comply with applicable Rules of Professional Conduct.
Zahteve
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and related training; completion of an American Bar Association-approved paralegal training program; certification through a State Bar-approved paralegal program; or equivalent working knowledge and experience.
- Five years of experience handling moderately complex legal matters in a law firm or corporate legal department, or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of legal concepts, terminology, principles, and procedures.
- Analytical skills to identify and define issues, establish facts, assess moderately complex information, and reach supported conclusions with minimal supervision.
- Creative problem-solving skills, including the ability to resolve issues promptly and seek input when needed.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain moderately complex facts and legal principles clearly and concisely.

- Substantial knowledge of legal research and writing methods, with demonstrated proficiency in online legal research.

- Ability to manage projects involving multiple attorneys, departments, and internal and external clients.
- Strong organizational and project-management skills, with close attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to adapt as the Financial Intelligence Unit’s position, role, function, and structure evolve.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
- Fluency in English.
