Environmental Engineer – Federal Projects

Support AECOM’s federal environmental projects through field sampling, regulatory review, and technical reporting. The role is based in Omaha and offers remote work options.

Opis

  • Develop technical solutions by applying scientific principles, established practices, and available technologies.
  • Prepare technical work plans, reports, datasets, and scientific documents.
  • Interpret and document data, then carry out analyses.
  • Assess findings against relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to support compliance.
  • Plan, conduct, analyze, and report on environmental assessments in natural systems.
  • Collect soil, soil vapor, groundwater, surface water, and sediment samples.
  • Prepare samples for shipment and complete chain-of-custody and related documentation.
  • Use chemistry, physics, biology, hydrology, and mathematics to explain observations.
  • Investigate contaminants and assess approaches to environmental restoration.
  • Check routine analytical data for general quality indicators.
  • Coordinate with task and project managers, site subcontractors, and field personnel.
  • Assist with sampling, data gathering, and field records.
  • Provide technical expertise.
  • Contribute to the Environmental business line, primarily on federal projects.

Zahteve

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, chemical, mechanical, environmental, or another related engineering discipline.
  • Six years of relevant experience or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license.
  • Pass a motor vehicle records check.
  • Pass a background check.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Professional registration, or progress toward registration, preferred.
  • Availability for fieldwork and meeting travel.
  • Significant travel within the United States may be required.
  • Proficiency with standard office suite software.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification, or ability to obtain it within six months of hire.
  • Database, GIS, CAD, and visualization software skills are desirable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with clients, regulatory officials, and colleagues.
