Yard and Dock Coordinator | GXO Logistics

Coordinate dock operations, trailer movements, and yard flow for GXO Logistics. Support safe, efficient supply-chain activity across site operations, transportation, yard services, and customer teams.

Descriere

  • Act as the main contact for dock-related operations
  • Keep trailer movements into and out of the facility safe, efficient, and timely
  • Promote operational safety and assist with hand tools and dock equipment
  • Coordinate trailers for loading and unloading
  • Sequence trailer docking, release, and overall yard traffic
  • Use knowledge of trailer structure and fleet safety requirements
  • Monitor dock conditions and stop work when unsafe situations arise
  • Apply established escalation procedures
  • Work with site operations, transportation, yard services, and customer teams to prioritize work
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders while upholding customer service standards
  • Align dock work with process instructions, safety requirements, and site SWIs
  • Maintain dock and yard organization under 7S workplace standards
  • Perform visual checks for hazards, inefficiencies, and possible delays
  • Use Microsoft Office 365 and Google Suite to record activity, share updates, and document issues
  • Provide coverage and operational assistance to site leadership and Lead peers when needed
  • Work the first shift Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Cerințe

  • Experience in a warehouse, distribution, dock, yard, or transportation setting
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate dock or yard work in a fast-paced operation
  • Working knowledge of trailer docking, release procedures, and trailer anatomy
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather and on varied terrain
  • Proven ability to follow established processes, safety standards, and escalation procedures
  • Strong communication skills for daily customer-facing and cross-functional interactions
  • Comfort using Microsoft Office 365 and/or Google Suite
  • Previous lead, coordinator, or informal leadership experience preferred
  • Experience with safety programs, yard management systems, or warehouse management systems preferred
  • Experience promoting or enforcing safe work practices and stop-work authority preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude or familiarity with basic hand tools and dock equipment preferred
  • Ability to spend extended periods outdoors in changing weather conditions
  • Ability to stand, walk, and cross uneven surfaces throughout the shift
  • Ability to stay alert in a high-traffic dock and yard setting
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as business needs require
  • Ability to routinely carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds over distances of 3 to 5 feet
  • Ability to stand for more than 4 hours at a time
  • Ability to walk continuously for more than 10,000 steps, or 4 to 5 miles, per day
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist, push, and pull objects of different shapes and sizes during team lifts
  • Ability to tolerate hot and cold working conditions
  • Ability to safely operate powered and/or manual lifting equipment under established protocols and safety guidelines
  • Conditional offer recipients may need to pass a pre-employment drug test
