Technology Designer, Low-Voltage Systems (Hybrid)

Design structured cabling, audiovisual, security, and other low-voltage systems for IMEG consulting projects in mission-critical and healthcare environments. Support project budgets, quality control, client communication, and construction administration.

Descriere

  • Direct design work for IT structured cabling, audiovisual, security, and other low-voltage building systems
  • Use engineering software and related tools to produce detailed designs, specifications, and calculations that meet code requirements and IMEG standards
  • Work with clients to clarify needs, collect requirements, explain technical information, and sustain client relationships
  • Contribute to consulting project delivery as a member of the project team
  • Manage project planning, budgets, and schedules to achieve deadlines and objectives
  • Record design decisions and client directions while tracking design progress, completion percentages, and fee usage
  • Evaluate engineering challenges and develop practical, innovative solutions with senior engineers and consultants
  • Perform design reviews during production and apply quality-control procedures
  • Track developments in low-voltage technology engineering, emerging technologies, and industry best practices
  • Participate in research, development, and innovation initiatives
  • Make safety a priority and reduce risks related to low-voltage ICT systems
  • Coordinate with engineers, architects, project managers, and multidisciplinary project teams
  • Manage work within project budgets while training, mentoring, and collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Flag project issues and consult the Project Manager for guidance
  • Manage projects through bidding and construction administration

Cerințe

  • Required: Bachelor of Science in electrical, electronics, computer, or related engineering; information technology; computer science; or another related STEM field, or an equivalent qualification. An associate degree or certificate in BIM or engineering may qualify through the alternative experience path.
  • Option A requires at least 3 years of building design consulting experience, with 4 years preferred.
  • Option B requires at least 7 years of experience in building design consulting or construction, with 8 years preferred.
  • Demonstrated command of design methods, tools, and concepts used for technical plans and specifications.
  • Strong technical and analytical understanding of electrical voltage and current, digital and analog signals, basic IT networking topologies and protocols, and low-voltage systems design.
  • Capacity to train and mentor less experienced staff.
  • Proficiency with standard engineering software and tools used in the industry.
  • Proficiency with BIM software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%.
