Staff Quantum Engineer – Spin-Photon Qubit Performance
Lead spin-photon qubit performance at Photonic, advancing high-fidelity quantum systems through experimental engineering, technical risk reduction, and cross-functional collaboration.
Descriere
- Lead the spin-photon qubit team in improving quantum architecture performance
- Make fast technical decisions while preserving a system-wide perspective
- Accelerate technical learning and reduce development risk
- Define system requirements for implementation by partner teams
- Plan and deliver rapid risk-reduction projects for complex, novel, multivariable challenges
- Coordinate feedback with nanofabrication, hardware, software, and modelling teams
- Gather high-quality data to resolve fundamental technical questions and improve performance measures
- Develop contingency plans and alternative routes to successful outcomes
- Translate data and modelling results into actionable system requirements
- Train, support, and mentor existing and incoming team members as a technical leader
- Partner with product engineering teams across device physics, classical computer architecture, and compilers
Cerințe
- PhD in experimental quantum information, physics, engineering, or a related discipline
- Exceptional experimental capability and technical judgement
- At least five years of professorial or industry experience in physics, quantum computing, and/or quantum engineering
- Strong knowledge of one or more quantum computing platforms, including ion traps, neutral atoms, defect centres, solid-state spins, or superconducting qubits
- Experience operating multi-qubit systems with high fidelity
- Adaptability in a rapidly evolving research and development environment
- Proven creativity in solving engineering and physics challenges
- Strong collaborative working skills
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication
- Ability to relocate to and work onsite in the greater Vancouver, British Columbia area
- Work permit support is available
