Principal Software Engineer (TS/SCI) – Hybrid in Bethesda

Lead development of Python, Kafka, and Elasticsearch microservices for Xcelerate Solutions’ DIA technology platform. Deploy secure, observable services on Kubernetes in support of a data-centric government mission.

Descriere

  • Create, enhance, test, and maintain Python microservices
  • Develop Apache Kafka producers and consumers
  • Connect services to Elasticsearch for real-time and batch indexing and search
  • Build unit and integration tests that support strong coverage and dependable releases
  • Develop CI/CD pipelines and deploy applications to Kubernetes clusters
  • Contribute to technical designs, code reviews, and architecture planning
  • Use observability tools to monitor systems and resolve production issues
  • Maintain technical documentation and share engineering knowledge
  • Apply suitable software engineering and design practices across development, integration, and production environments
  • Work with Systems Engineers, Software Engineers, Architects, Operations Engineering, and management
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration and deliver quality customer products and services
  • Support the long-term DIA-NDOC DOMEX Technology Platform contract, including its data-centric, cloud-based, AI/ML, and cross-domain transfer mission

Cerințe

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 12 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with at least 10 years of relevant experience
  • Equivalent relevant experience may substitute for a degree
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a polygraph
  • Proficiency in Python and backend frameworks such as FastAPI and Flask
  • Experience working with containerization technologies, particularly Docker
  • Experience with extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes
  • Hands-on Linux development experience, including Bash or similar scripting
  • Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and microservice architecture
  • Practical Kubernetes experience deploying, monitoring, and debugging services
  • Understanding of common design patterns, security practices, and logging and monitoring principles
  • Familiarity with Git and collaborative workflows such as pull requests and code reviews
  • Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools, especially GitLab or Jenkins
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in Agile environments
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Preferred: experience designing and implementing software development kits
  • Preferred: familiarity with DGX (Deep GPU Xceleration)
  • Preferred: active Security+ certification and ability to obtain PUA certification from the Government
  • Preferred: Elasticsearch or other certifications related to the program technology stack
  • Preferred: experience with production or enterprise systems at scale
  • Preferred: knowledge of distributed systems concepts such as idempotency and eventual consistency
  • Preferred: familiarity with schema registries and Kafka streaming patterns
  • Preferred: experience with AWS/C2S
  • Preferred: familiarity with or experience developing applications using Large Language Models and Agentic AI
