Principal Software Engineer, Java/Spring — United States Onsite
Lead development of Spring-based Java microservices and distributed APIs for PNC’s banking technology organization. Support releases, monitoring, CI/CD, and cloud container platforms.
Descriere
- Design, develop, and maintain distributed REST APIs and microservices for high-volume transaction workloads
- Apply object-oriented analysis and design principles
- Build Java solutions with Spring Boot, Spring JPA, Spring Batch, and related frameworks
- Provide after-hours or weekend release and incident support, typically about once a month
- Apply Agile delivery practices, including Scrum and Kanban
- Develop and support event-driven architectures with Kafka or MQ
- Operate and troubleshoot applications on Kubernetes, OpenShift, and cloud container platforms
- Work with Oracle, SQL/MySQL, Redis, and Hibernate or other ORM technologies
- Establish unit testing and code-quality practices with Spock/JUnit and SonarQube
- Administer and maintain Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines
- Use Dynatrace and Logscale to investigate issues and monitor applications
- Deliver customer-focused solutions while managing risk under PNC’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework
Cerințe
- Demonstrated experience leading technical initiatives or teams
- Knowledge of object-oriented analysis and design principles
- Experience designing, developing, and maintaining high-transaction distributed REST APIs and microservices
- Strong hands-on Java experience, preferably with Java 11 or Java 17
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
- Strong practical experience with Agile methods, including Scrum and Kanban
- Knowledge of event-driven architecture using Kafka or MQ
- Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, or other cloud container-management platforms
- Experience working with cloud-based platforms
- Proficiency with Oracle, SQL/MySQL, Redis, and Hibernate or other ORM technologies
- Hands-on experience with Spock/JUnit and SonarQube
- Advanced knowledge of Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines
- Strong working knowledge of Dynatrace and Logscale monitoring tools
- Knowledge of Java microservices frameworks such as Spring Boot, Spring JPA, and Spring Batch
- Experience using Gradle or Maven
- At least five years of relevant industry experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- A comparable combination of education, job-specific certifications, and experience, including military service, may be accepted instead of a degree
