Optical CM Support Engineer – Operations Engineering, Nokia (Bangalore Hybrid)

Develop and qualify fiber-optic assembly processes for Nokia’s high-speed connectivity products. Improve manufacturing yield through alignment, splicing, testing, and structured root-cause analysis.

Descriere

  • Develop, qualify, and maintain advanced optical assembly processes.
  • Support fiber preparation, fusion splicing, routing, connector integration, active alignment, optical packaging, and photonic assembly.
  • Support products from New Product Introduction through high-volume manufacturing.
  • Optimize processes and improve manufacturing yield.
  • Investigate root causes and resolve complex manufacturing issues.
  • Use optical measurement systems, microscopy, cross-sectional analysis, and reliability testing.
  • Maintain robust manufacturing processes and high optical performance.
  • Partner with design, quality, reliability, and operations teams.
  • Lead product transitions into high-volume manufacturing.

Cerințe

  • Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in optical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, photonics, manufacturing engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and test methods for optical communications and fiber-optic assemblies.
  • Experience in silicon photonics, photonic integrated circuits, co-packaged optics, or optical engine manufacturing.
  • Experience with automated fiber alignment, robotic assembly systems, and precision motion platforms.
  • Knowledge of Telcordia, IEC, and GR standards, reliability engineering, and optical test equipment such as OSA and OTDR.
  • Strong experience with optical manufacturing processes and fiber-optic assembly technologies.
  • Hands-on experience developing, optimizing, and qualifying fusion-splicing processes.
  • Expertise in fiber stripping, cleaving, cleaning, recoating, and related preparation practices.
  • Experience designing and managing fiber routing, bend-radius control, and optical packaging integration.
  • Knowledge of optical connectors, receptacles, ferrules, adapters, and cable assemblies for high-performance products.
  • Understanding of optical module assembly and active and passive alignment methods.
  • Experience with insertion loss, return loss, power, and wavelength verification measurements.
  • Ability to conduct root-cause and failure analysis using optical microscopy and connector inspection.
  • Knowledge of process control, SPC, DOE, PFMEA, and structured problem-solving methods.
  • Experience supporting New Product Introduction and moving products into high-volume manufacturing.
