Descriere

  • Set and execute legal strategies that help Mondelēz compete while protecting its people, assets, and reputation.
  • Lead the legal team in delivering cost-effective services through internal and external resources, technology, and systems.
  • Advise on legal and operational risks.
  • Direct legal strategy with outside counsel, including management of spending.
  • Counsel business units and regional and global stakeholders on laws, regulatory developments, risks, and opportunities.
  • Prepare, file, and prosecute U.S. patent applications covering snacking technologies.
  • Oversee global patent prosecution with foreign counsel in key jurisdictions.
  • Set filing strategies that reflect innovation priorities, brands, and product roadmaps.
  • Manage and refine the global patent portfolio, including maintenance decisions, continuations, and analytics.
  • Assess freedom to operate and patentability, and prepare validity and invalidity opinions.
  • Support intellectual property due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, licensing, and partnerships.
  • Work with R&D scientists, food technologists, packaging engineers, supply chain, and marketing teams to identify patentable innovations.
  • Lead invention harvesting sessions, ideation workshops, and intellectual property awareness training.
  • Turn technical and commercial concepts into intellectual property strategies.
  • Prepare and file U.S. and international design patent applications.
  • Create design protection strategies that support global brand and trademark portfolios.
  • Assist with drafting and negotiating NDAs, MTAs, JDAs, and PSAs.
  • Support pre-litigation intellectual property enforcement and coordinate with outside litigation counsel.
  • Track competitor patent activity and deliver patent landscape analyses.
  • Assist with enforcement, litigation, and opposition proceedings.
  • Help shape intellectual property policies, best practices, and process improvements.

Cerințe

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
  • Active membership in good standing of at least one U.S. state bar.
  • At least four years of law firm experience focused on patent preparation and prosecution.
  • At least two years of in-house patent counsel experience.
  • Demonstrated management of U.S. patent prosecution from invention disclosure through grant.
  • Experience overseeing global patent portfolios in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Practical experience leading invention harvesting and working with R&D and marketing stakeholders to identify patentable subject matter.
  • Experience preparing and filing U.S. and/or international design patent applications.
  • Technical education or background in food science, chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • Substantial legal experience, ideally at a large, matrixed multinational company.
  • Strong analytical ability, strategic judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership experience, including communicating and presenting at all organizational levels.
  • Substantial experience evaluating and advising on risk, coaching, and resolving disputes in a multinational company.
  • Exceptional integrity and trustworthiness, with the credibility and willingness to speak candidly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Resourcefulness, including effective use of relevant technologies and systems.
