Cloud Engineer III – Databricks, Snowflake, AWS/GCP (Hybrid)

Manage Databricks and Snowflake platforms supporting FactSet’s financial data and analytics products. Oversee AWS and GCP infrastructure, CI/CD, security, FinOps, observability, and disaster recovery.

Descriere

  • Plan and implement enterprise data platforms across AWS and GCP
  • Promote cloud-native services and make core infrastructure accessible to engineering teams
  • Help engineering teams adopt automation and effective release practices
  • Partner with security teams to strengthen protection for cloud services and data
  • Administer Databricks Unity Catalog governance across more than 100 projects, including compute policies, cluster custodian rules, and access controls
  • Maintain and enhance Terraform and Databricks Asset Bundles CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and CodeBuild
  • Support DDL and grant management through Flyway-based migration tools
  • Analyze FinOps across Databricks DBU usage, S3 storage, Snowflake, and related data platforms
  • Contribute to AWS-to-GCP migration planning for AI workloads
  • Design and assess secure architectures for external and third-party access
  • Build and operate centralized observability tools for jobs and pipelines
  • Restructure workspaces into a catalog-based architecture aligned with disaster-recovery tiers
  • Lead the future implementation of multi-region disaster recovery for Databricks
  • Use AWS and GCP expertise to configure Databricks network connectivity and resolve connectivity and performance issues

Cerințe

  • At least 3 years of hands-on public cloud experience with AWS and/or GCP
  • At least 2 years of hands-on Databricks experience, including Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, and Databricks Asset Bundles
  • At least 1 year of Snowflake experience covering data warehousing, access management, and cross-platform integrations
  • Proven ability to work effectively across cross-functional technology teams
  • Professional fluency in written and spoken English
  • At least 3 years of AWS and/or GCP experience supporting Databricks workloads on cloud infrastructure
  • Understanding of cloud computing technologies
  • Strong working knowledge of Python, Terraform, or Ansible, including the Databricks Terraform provider and Databricks Asset Bundles
  • Experience with Docker, EC2/ASG, serverless Lambda, and ECS/EKS
  • Strong foundational knowledge of VPC, TGW, Direct Connect, ALB/NLB, and PrivateLink
  • Hands-on experience managing Databricks Unity Catalog governance, access controls, and compute policies
  • Experience with CI/CD tools including GitHub Actions and AWS CodeBuild
  • Knowledge of generative AI and AI/ML tools and methods, including MLflow and Model Serving
  • Experience with observability and monitoring tools for data pipelines and workflows
  • Required bachelor’s degree in information or computer science, engineering, or a related IT-focused discipline
  • Working knowledge of FinOps principles
  • Familiarity with Flyway or Liquibase
  • Understanding of identity and access management patterns, including OIDC authentication
  • Experience working in multi-cloud environments, especially AWS and GCP
