Solutions Architect, Defence — Germany Remote

Cohere is hiring a Solutions Architect to help defence and public-sector customers in Germany deploy secure enterprise AI. The role leads technical architectures, customer pilots, evaluations, and partnerships across sovereign, classified, and disconnected environments.

  • Translate customer challenges into appropriate Cohere solutions and technical architectures
  • Serve as the primary technical advisor and manage stakeholder relationships
  • Drive internal and external adoption of Cohere products
  • Capture customer insights to inform product development
  • Lead the design and rollout of pilots for strategic enterprise and government customers
  • Own the technical story from discovery and architecture through pilot outcomes and business justification
  • Deliver structured customer feedback to Product and Engineering
  • Lead technical discussions during customer calls
  • Design enterprise architectures for on-premises, air-gapped, and sovereign cloud deployments that meet German and EU requirements
  • Design solutions for classified and disconnected environments, including VS-NfD, DDIL, and tactical edge settings
  • Provide detailed technical guidance on customer questions and Cohere technology
  • Partner with customer executives to prioritize use cases, define success measures, and build AI adoption cases
  • Convert defence and operational needs into practical AI use cases
  • Run customer evaluations and pilots within their existing technology environments
  • Lead technical responses for RFPs and public tenders, including defence procurement processes
  • Create and document scalable processes for the solutions architecture and related teams
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to align offerings with customer requirements
  • Collaborate with system integrators, defence organisations, and sovereign cloud providers to support and accelerate their customers

Prasības

  • At least 3 years of experience in customer-facing technical roles, such as consulting data scientist, forward-deployed engineer, deployment strategist, or solutions architect
  • Experience progressing AI or data solutions from executive problem definition through production deployment
  • Strong interest in agentic AI and a practical understanding of where large language models create value in production
  • Sound knowledge of machine learning fundamentals, including training, evaluation, and retrieval
  • Ability to create evaluation frameworks for customer pilots
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and executive audiences
  • Ability to work effectively amid ambiguity and establish high-impact structures and processes
  • Comfort working with Python and assistive coding tools
  • Experience in or with the defence sector, including the Bundeswehr, defence companies, federal IT, or NATO
  • Deep understanding of how defence organisations purchase and operate IT
  • Eligibility and willingness to complete German security clearance under the SÜG, at Ü2 level or higher
  • Professional fluency in English and German at C1 level or higher, including business negotiation proficiency
  • Experience in the German defence market or with RFPs and public tenders is preferred
