Senior Container Solution Architect Adelaide On-site

Lead secure Azure and Kubernetes container platforms for DXC Technology’s federal government clients in Adelaide. Drive compliant container modernisation across complex enterprise environments.

  • Define enterprise container strategies and roadmaps that meet federal government standards and compliance obligations.
  • Direct solution design for containerised applications across multiple business units and departments.
  • Set enterprise standards, architecture patterns, and best practices for container platforms.
  • Ensure architecture decisions satisfy security, compliance, and performance expectations.
  • Assess and recommend container technologies, platforms, and supporting tools.
  • Act as technical lead for enterprise container platforms and cloud modernisation programs.
  • Coach engineering teams in containerisation practices and architectural patterns.
  • Advance platform engineering with reusable architectures, automation patterns, self-service features, and standardised deployment models.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams delivering container solutions.
  • Provide technical governance and oversight for container-based deployments.
  • Create architecture review processes and serve as the principal reviewer for container solutions.
  • Lead the design and delivery of Azure container solutions.
  • Design and oversee Azure Kubernetes Service deployments and cluster operations.
  • Define AKS governance, security controls, and operational standards.
  • Ensure AKS architecture conforms to enterprise Azure Landing Zone standards.
  • Develop container registry strategies and protect image management across Azure environments.
  • Design Azure architectures for container networking, storage, and security.
  • Direct cloud infrastructure planning and optimisation for container workloads.
  • Lead migrations from traditional infrastructure to container-based solutions.
  • Resolve complex containerisation challenges through solution development.
  • Design hybrid and multi-cloud container strategies.
  • Ensure solutions align with Australian Government security frameworks, including ISM, PSPF, Essential Eight, and applicable IRAP controls.
  • Prepare and present architecture recommendations to executive and technical audiences.
  • Assess OpenShift and support container strategies spanning multiple platforms.
  • Maintain interoperability between Azure-hosted and on-premises container platforms.
  • Apply container security controls such as image scanning, runtime protection, and access management.
  • Design Zero Trust-aligned container platforms using Microsoft Entra ID, Managed Identities, workload identities, and least-privilege access.
  • Lead security assessments and vulnerability reviews.
  • Maintain adherence to federal information security standards and agency-specific obligations.
  • Define standards for orchestration, monitoring, logging, tracing, and performance analytics.
  • Create operational runbooks and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Track platform performance, capacity, and cost efficiency.
  • Deliver CI/CD pipelines and automate container deployments.
  • Report to the Account Chief Architect.

Prasības

  • At least 10 years of experience in IT architecture and infrastructure design.
  • At least 7 years of hands-on experience with container technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • At least 5 years of enterprise architecture experience in large-scale, multi-team environments.
  • At least 5 years of cloud architecture experience in enterprise settings.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Azure and AKS.
  • Demonstrated success leading technical teams and architecture initiatives.
  • Experience designing solutions for federal government or similarly regulated environments.
  • Australian citizenship is required.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance; NV1 eligibility is highly desirable.
  • Expert proficiency with Azure Cloud Services.
  • Expert proficiency with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
  • Advanced Kubernetes administration and architecture capability.
  • Experience designing container orchestration and microservices architectures.
  • Experience implementing container security, networking, and storage.
  • Infrastructure-as-Code experience with Terraform, ARM templates, and Bicep.
  • Experience managing container registries and images.
  • Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with cloud networking, security, and compliance architecture.
  • Strong technical communication and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority.
  • Strategic judgement balancing technical quality with business goals.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical ability in complex enterprise environments.
  • Ability to interpret and implement federal government compliance and security requirements.
  • Project leadership and program management capability.
  • Experience mentoring and developing technical teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305), or AZ-104 with additional Azure certifications.
  • OpenShift experience is advantageous.
  • Kubernetes certification such as CKA, CKAD, or equivalent is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with OpenShift or Red Hat container technologies is preferred.
  • Familiarity with service mesh technologies such as Istio and Linkerd is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading DevOps transformation initiatives.
  • Previous federal government or DoD/IC experience is preferred.
