Senior AI Engineer, Mexico (Remote)

Apraksts

  • Own finance AI workflows from initial problem framing through production and continued refinement.
  • Create agentic and LLM systems that bring together extraction, retrieval, reasoning, and tool use.
  • Set human review checkpoints for high-value financial decisions.
  • Document designs, assess build-versus-buy and model options, and define workflow success measures.
  • Work with customers and internal finance teams to uncover workflow challenges and agree on success criteria.
  • Develop production-ready LLM pipelines with prompt and context design, structured outputs, validation, fallback handling, and confidence scoring.
  • Build retrieval and RAG components, including chunking, embeddings, vector search, and reranking.
  • Connect AI services to Jeeves’ backend through API contracts, retries, graceful failure handling, and customer-level data isolation.
  • Control model costs and response times.
  • Create evaluation datasets and automated checks to detect regressions as prompts, models, or data change.
  • Add logging, tracing, dashboards, and alerts to AI components.
  • Keep an audit trail of AI decisions for a regulated financial product.
  • Develop common AI engineering patterns, tools, and practices.
  • Help the broader team use coding agents and AI tools effectively.
  • Review AI system designs and share lessons learned.

Prasības

  • At least 7 years of professional software engineering experience, including 2 or more years building and operating production LLM or AI systems.
  • Demonstrated ownership of a substantial system or workflow from scoping and design through launch and iteration, with minimal guidance.
  • Practical experience delivering LLM applications using APIs such as Anthropic, OpenAI, or similar, including structured outputs, error handling, and evaluation.
  • Experience designing agentic or multi-step AI workflows, or RAG systems using vector databases such as pgvector, Pinecone, or Weaviate.
  • Strong Python skills.
  • Sound backend fundamentals, including REST APIs, PostgreSQL or a comparable relational database, asynchronous patterns, and a major cloud platform such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Regular use of AI coding agents and tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex.
  • Experience monitoring AI systems with logs, traces, dashboards, and quality checks.
  • Professional fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Preferred: background in fintech, financial services, or another regulated field.
  • Preferred: experience automating finance or back-office processes.
  • Preferred: technical leadership of a project or a small engineering team.
  • Preferred: startup or scale-up experience building systems from the ground up.
  • Preferred: fluency in Spanish or Portuguese.
  • Preferred: open-source contributions, technical writing, or talks about applied AI.
