Lead architecture across EDC’s on-premises, hybrid, and cloud platforms, setting direction for secure and dependable infrastructure. Help enable digital services that support Canada’s development finance and global trade mission.

- Set the infrastructure architecture vision and target state across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments, including transition plans and decommissioning.
- Design end-to-end infrastructure solutions and platform capabilities, covering blueprints, logical and physical designs, integration patterns, and non-functional requirements.
- Establish and maintain infrastructure reference architectures, standards, and reusable building blocks.
- Lead or chair design reviews and approve designs and exceptions as delegated design authority.
- Record architecture decisions and keep them traceable.
- Advance architecture governance and alignment through the Architecture Review Board and Communities of Practice.
- Coach solution teams on architecture standards and trade-offs.
- Work with cybersecurity teams to incorporate security-by-design controls, threat considerations, and compliance requirements.
- Set SLO and SLA expectations, observability requirements, reliability patterns, and supportability criteria for managed services.
- Advise on roadmaps, estimates, prioritization, investment, and delivery sequencing.
- Set technical procurement requirements, assess solution proposals, and contribute to KPI and SLA expectations and continuous improvement.
- Report to the Director of IT Platform Enablement.
- Support EDC’s business transformation by enabling secure, reliable digital experiences and technology outcomes.

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience designing and governing infrastructure architecture and modernization across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.
- Experience overseeing delivery through partners or managed services.
- Ability to define and own infrastructure or platform strategies, target and transition architectures, and practical roadmaps, standards, and reference architectures.
- Experience serving as a design authority, leading reviews, approving architecture decisions, managing exceptions, and building alignment through Communities of Practice.
- Experience working with procurement and managing vendors.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience preparing decision records, investment cases, and recommendations for leadership.
- Experience improving cost transparency and efficiency, including show-back or chargeback and stakeholder consumption reviews.
- A knowledge-sharing and enablement approach, using documentation, playbooks, and patterns.
- Ability to lead through influence and coaching, and to plan talent and capabilities.
- Must meet government security screening requirements.
- Certifications in Azure, AWS, or GCP architecture, FinOps Practitioner, ITIL, M365 Professional, CoPilot, or AI fundamentals are an advantage.
- Hands-on supplier governance and commercial management experience is an advantage.
- English-French bilingualism is an advantage.
