Warehouse Operations Manager, 1st Shift (Onsite)

Manage warehouse employees, safety, quality, equipment, and customer commitments for GXO Logistics. Help drive efficient supply chain operations for global customers.

Description

  • Coordinate with customers, vendors, and employees to fulfill customer commitments
  • Apply GXO quality policies and establish procedures that support quality objectives
  • Advise supervisors on personnel, quality, and safety matters
  • Recruit, train, develop, and evaluate employees
  • Recommend initiatives that improve operational performance
  • Oversee equipment needs and coordinate maintenance with the maintenance team
  • Maintain accurate records and complete reports on schedule
  • Enforce safe work practices and warehouse compliance with OSHA and other applicable regulations
  • Manage core warehouse activities that keep operations running smoothly
  • Promote employee engagement, customer loyalty, and operational efficiency

Requirements

  • At least four years of relevant professional experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, plus computerized scanner equipment
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including planned and unplanned overtime and weekends when required
  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics or a related discipline preferred
  • Four years of management or supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience working in an AS9100- or ISO-certified environment
  • Knowledge of and experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous process improvement
  • Background in warehousing or third-party logistics (3PL)
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials transportation requirements, including 49 CFR, IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, and IMDG
  • Experience managing or supporting the transportation, storage, and handling of hazardous materials and chemicals
  • Knowledge of OSHA, environmental compliance, and chemical safety requirements
  • Ability to maintain workplace safety by monitoring and enforcing procedures across departments
  • Strong problem-solving and statistical analysis capabilities
  • Ability to lift objects of different shapes, sizes, and weights
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
  • Ability to reach, including overhead, and to bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat, and kneel
  • Ability to work in hot or cold warehouse conditions
