VP Portfolio Manager, Commercial Banking

Manage complex corporate credit portfolios and underwrite loan solutions at Associated Bank. Work with Relationship Managers to grow client relationships and manage risk.

Description

  • Oversee Corporate Banking relationships in line with credit policy, business strategy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review financial statements and loan requests, recommending suitable credit structures and solutions.
  • Work with Relationship Managers to strengthen client relationships and provide a seamless banking experience.
  • Track portfolio performance, repayments, and clients’ financial condition to identify and manage risk early.
  • Find opportunities to broaden client relationships through referrals to Treasury Management, Wealth Management, Capital Markets, and other banking services.
  • Complete due diligence and prepare credit recommendations for prospective and existing client opportunities.
  • Present credit requests and recommendations through the bank’s loan approval process.
  • Support portfolio growth by meeting objectives for loans, deposits, fee income, and client retention.
  • Refer suspicious activity to Financial Intelligence.
  • Report customer complaints and procedural violations to management or HR.
  • Raise ethical concerns through Associated Bank’s anonymous Ethics Hotline.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 4 years of experience in Corporate Banking, Commercial Banking, Commercial Real Estate Banking, Specialized Banking, or Credit Approval.
  • At least 4 years of experience analyzing and managing complex credit relationships.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to drive legally, if applicable.
  • Preferred: At least 2 years of sales or business development experience.
  • Preferred: At least 2 years of formal credit training.
  • CFA designation preferred.
  • Represent yourself and your own experience directly throughout recruiting and hiring.
  • Successfully complete a thorough background check.
  • Comply with applicable enterprise policies, laws, regulations, and Bank Secrecy Act requirements.
