Virtual Prototype Simulation Applications Engineer, Machine Tools

Support Amada’s sales team with equipment cost analyses and workflow improvements. Use proprietary software and machine tool technology to help optimize sheet metal manufacturing.

Description

  • Support the sales team in building business cases for fabrication equipment.
  • Prepare and present tailored cost justification reports to clients.
  • Visit manufacturing shops to identify process improvements using Amada software.
  • Document manufacturers’ workflows from engineering prints through finished parts.
  • Assess manufacturing processes and recommend improvements using Amada machine tool technology.
  • Create and deliver customer presentations based on study data and findings.
  • Work with sales staff and product specialists to develop tailored proposals.
  • Present study findings to customers in person and online.
  • Lead sales teams during on-site data gathering at customer facilities.
  • Help sales teams collect and process project information.
  • Contribute to developing processes and procedures for ongoing improvement.
  • Use Amada software to support VPSS and sales initiatives.
  • Report to the VPSS Application Engineering Manager.

Requirements

  • Learn and apply new software products.
  • Use Microsoft Office proficiently, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Analyze sheet metal processes and match them with Amada product solutions.
  • Communicate effectively in writing and speech, including presentations.
  • Have a background in the sheet metal industry and related manufacturing processes.
  • Know Amada’s products and their applications.
  • Be familiar with Amada’s sales procedures and workflows.
  • Be willing to travel 20%, mostly within the United States.
  • Work effectively and cooperatively with colleagues and customers.
  • Follow instructions and work independently most of the time.
  • Maintain a positive, professional attitude.
  • Adapt to a growing department and organization.
  • Be available to work onsite Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
