Trade Compliance Analyst, US Remote

Audit import transactions and strengthen customs compliance for Spreetail’s e-commerce logistics and fulfillment operations. Use trade data and automation to reduce duty overpayments and improve global import accuracy.

Description

  • Lead end-to-end audits of import entries by reviewing CBP records, investigating discrepancies, coordinating corrective actions, and preserving audit-ready documentation.
  • Oversee Post Summary Corrections, verify duty payments, assess customs broker performance, and work with Finance to recover overpayments and maintain compliance.
  • Improve classification quality by reviewing HTS codes, resolving inconsistencies, and advising on complex customs classification matters.
  • Evaluate import data to uncover compliance exposures, duty-reduction opportunities, and operational improvements.
  • Build dashboards, automated workflows, and reporting tools that increase efficiency and data reliability.
  • Partner with Transportation, Finance, Merchandising, customs brokers, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strengthen customs procedures, documentation standards, and the integrity of import data.
  • Help maintain efficient, compliant global trade operations.

Requirements

  • Practical knowledge of U.S. customs compliance, including CBP Form 7501, customs valuation, country-of-origin rules, HTS classification, and Sections 301 and 232 trade remedies.
  • Strong analytical ability to detect documentation and duty-calculation errors, assess their financial effects, and maintain reliable audit records.
  • Professional experience collaborating with customs brokers.
  • Hands-on experience managing Post Summary Corrections.
  • Understanding of importer-of-record obligations.
  • Advanced spreadsheet and data-analysis capabilities.
  • Experience developing reports, calculators, dashboards, or automated tools.
  • Clear communication and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work across teams, influence process enhancements, and proactively address compliance risks.
