Systems Engineer Intern - Sierra Space - Louisville Onsite

Support spacecraft subsystem integration, requirements documentation, performance tracking, and verification testing as a Systems Engineer Intern at Sierra Space. Gain hands-on experience through aerospace projects, mentorship, networking, and cross-functional development.

Description

  • Integrate complex spacecraft technologies across subsystems with cross-functional engineering teams
  • Collaborate with power, communications, and avionics engineering disciplines
  • Document system requirements
  • Monitor and track system performance
  • Assist with verification testing
  • Contribute to aerospace projects while developing technical skills and professional connections
  • Learn and apply essential business processes and procedures
  • Build technical expertise through hands-on work and guidance from experienced professionals
  • Take part in cross-functional workshops and leadership sessions

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program
  • Expected to graduate between December 2027 and June 2028
  • Demonstrated interest in solving problems with data and technology
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative team environment
  • Well organized, detail oriented, and proactive
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorization from the U.S. Department of State or U.S. Department of Commerce
