Description

  • Own major engineering initiatives across eligibility, identity, and client configuration systems with independent execution.
  • Create scalable backend architecture capable of supporting 50× growth in Modern Health’s data volume.
  • Work with product managers and operations teams to clarify requirements, use cases, and edge conditions for complex projects.
  • Coordinate delivery with a senior staff engineer against a multi-year growth engineering roadmap.
  • Develop junior engineers through technical mentorship and collaborative code review.
  • Scale the backend services that enable client launches and member access.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of backend software engineering experience.
  • 8–15 years of backend engineering experience, including substantial Python work with Django or Flask, at staff level.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead complex full-stack projects from inception through delivery.
  • Background designing scalable systems for substantial data growth, including examples such as 50× expansion.
  • Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with product and operations stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Bootcamp graduates and self-taught engineers are welcome to apply.
  • Must be eligible to work remotely from the US, excluding Hawaii.
