Staff Software Engineer, DSM Team — Spain Remote

Join Cint’s DSM team to scale the ResTech platform that transforms survey responses into business and advertising insights. Design high-volume backend systems and data integrations for a distributed, data-intensive environment.

Description

  • Design, implement, scale, and maintain backend systems that process large data volumes
  • Develop event-driven and API-based integrations
  • Support migration toward a more domain-oriented, scalable architecture
  • Build and optimize software for performance-sensitive workflows
  • Analyze technical issues and develop solutions collaboratively
  • Partner with data science and engineering teams on technical solutions
  • Work independently while delivering high-quality work on schedule
  • Mentor and influence junior and mid-level engineers for approximately 20% of the role
  • Collaborate across the Outcomes, Methodology, and Recruitment teams and related product and data science functions
  • Contribute to the next generation of Cint products and support high-quality research

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of backend software engineering experience
  • Deep technical expertise
  • Professional experience with Java, or willingness to transition from another primary language
  • Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, Big O notation, and event-driven architecture
  • Familiarity with Spark, Apache ecosystem tools, Delta Lake, Parquet, and Kafka
  • Experience using Python and/or PySpark
  • Background building or maintaining complex, real-time, high-volume systems with high throughput and low latency
  • Experience with Docker, SQL, and NoSQL databases
  • Experience developing REST APIs and event-driven integrations
  • Comfort working in performance-focused, production-critical environments
  • Proven problem-solving ability and a proactive, collaborative approach
  • Effective communication skills with engineering and data science colleagues
  • Academic background in computer science, computer engineering, or a related discipline preferred
  • Experience with AWS, GCP, or another cloud provider is desirable
  • Experience with Pandas is desirable
  • Experience with Spring Framework and microservices is desirable
  • Background working in large-scale data or analytics environments is desirable
