Staff Software Engineer - Bangalore, Onsite

Lead the architecture and delivery of scalable, secure full-stack platforms for Walmart’s global retail business. Guide product development, testing, technical exploration, and engineering mentorship.

Description

  • Lead the design, architecture, and delivery of next-generation platforms focused on scalability, resilience, and security.
  • Design, build, test, and deploy solutions at scale for millions of customers.
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders across multiple initiatives.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and conduct proofs of concept to support the technology roadmap.
  • Support the hiring, development, upskilling, and mentorship of engineers.
  • Contribute to design, architecture, and code reviews.
  • Collaborate within a high-performing agile organization spanning multiple teams.
  • Help shape web and mobile product vision and design.
  • Develop and test full-stack product concepts.
  • Own product delivery while leading and supporting junior developers.
  • Collaborate with Walmart engineering teams across geographies.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Use industry research to improve the Sam’s technology environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related field plus 4 years of software engineering experience; alternatively, 6 years of related software engineering experience.
  • At least 12 years of experience with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field, as specified in the role qualifications.
  • Strong knowledge of responsive design methods and principles.
  • Extensive experience with HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3, AJAX, GraphQL, React Native, React, Redux, Webpack, and Node.js.
  • Familiarity with Android frameworks.
  • Experience developing responsive user interfaces and user experiences.
  • Experience writing unit tests with Jasmine, Mocha, Enzyme, and Mockito.
  • Experience writing functional tests with Nightwatch.js and Test Armada.
  • Knowledge of Java programming and JVM internals.
  • Working knowledge of data structures and SQL technologies.
  • Experience with cloud development.
  • Knowledge of software engineering best practices, CI/CD, log aggregation, monitoring, and alerting.
  • Expertise in production support, including identifying and resolving issues.
  • Experience driving the architecture, design, and development of distributed systems.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field; a master’s degree is listed as preferred.
  • Must work daily from the Bangalore office.
