Staff Site Reliability Engineer at KnowBe4 (Remote, United States)

KnowBe4 is hiring a Staff Site Reliability Engineer to strengthen the reliability and security of its AWS-based workforce security platform. The role focuses on distributed systems, incident prevention, and scalable cloud operations.

Description

  • Plan preventive measures for potential production incidents
  • Architect globally distributed systems and organizational processes
  • Assess and remediate weaknesses in applications and infrastructure
  • Develop tailored solutions for complex technical challenges and communicate them to teammates
  • Deliver substantial technology contributions that may lead to patents, trade secrets, publications, or presentations
  • Convert KnowBe4’s strategic objectives into actionable operational plans
  • Collaborate across functional teams and organizational boundaries
  • Lead major subprojects or smaller projects from end to end
  • Support platform reliability, security, scalability, and efficiency
  • Partner with engineers in a fast-moving, agile development environment
  • Improve the technologies that operate the systems, with a focus on safety and reliability

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree or equivalent, plus at least eight years of experience
  • Proficiency coding in multiple or unfamiliar languages, including Python, Ruby, and JavaScript
  • Experience architecting complex, high-scale systems and patterns in AWS
  • Experience designing repeatable continuous integration and continuous deployment workflows
  • Excellent communication and technical documentation skills
  • Ability to manage time independently across competing projects
  • Ability to rapidly understand, troubleshoot, and explain complex distributed systems
  • AWS Cloud Certification at the Associate level
  • Training in secure coding practices is preferred
  • AWS Cloud Certification at the Professional level is preferred
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform and/or Azure is preferred
  • Public-company experience is preferred
  • Open-source contributions or technical blogging experience is preferred
