Description

  • Set and promote the domain’s technical vision.
  • Turn complex challenges into practical, operational solutions.
  • Maintain the quality of technical designs and implementations.
  • Guide decisions involving performance, scalability, and operability.
  • Expand advanced technical knowledge and share it with the engineering community.
  • Coordinate multiple projects and prioritize work for maximum impact.

  • Partner with senior engineering and architecture leaders on platform strategy and API standards.
  • Contribute hands-on while mentoring and developing peer and junior engineers.

  • Build and enhance Turing, Capital One’s centralized cloud platform for tokenizing highly sensitive human data.
  • Develop resilient, multilingual SDKs and Kanudo, the internal caching platform, to support enterprise security at scale.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related quantitative field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in software engineering and solution architecture, enterprise architecture and design patterns, cloud computing, and data architecture.
  • Preferred: master’s degree in computer science or software engineering.
  • Preferred: 10 or more years of experience in software engineering and solution architecture, enterprise architecture and design patterns, web technologies, distributed HPC and ML systems, cloud computing, and data architecture.
  • Preferred: 10 or more years of professional coding experience in Go, Java, JavaScript or TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, or Scala.
  • Preferred: 8 or more years of experience with databases and database management systems.
  • Preferred: 10 or more years of professional experience across the full system development lifecycle.
  • Preferred: 8 or more years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
  • Preferred: 10 or more years of experience with networking protocols and third-party distributed systems.
  • Preferred: 5 or more years of experience mentoring senior engineers and leading professional development.
  • Preferred: 2 or more years of experience leading cross-domain architecture reviews and establishing coding and design standards.
  • Expertise in the strategic use of agentic AI coding tools.
