Software Engineer, Front-End AI Applications — Ford Motor Company (Hybrid, India)
Develop front-end software for Ford Credit’s Ford Bill payment platform and other AI-enabled web applications. Use modern cloud, artificial intelligence, and LLM technologies to create scalable experiences for commercial customers.
Description
- Develop applications, databases, cloud tools, and other services that support Ford’s technology platforms
- Create AI agents that generate code throughout the software development lifecycle
- Use GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, and ChatGPT to develop, debug, and review code
- Assess and improve AI-generated code for quality, security, and engineering standards
- Create reusable code and shared libraries
- Validate the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
- Improve application performance and scalability
- Support responsive web and mobile experiences across screen sizes
- Apply Agile software development practices
- Review existing products and help shape new features
- Maintain, support, and enhance existing systems and platforms
- Partner with business users, project managers, and fellow engineers
- Collaborate with engineers to advance technology and apply engineering best practices
- Help deliver digital products for Ford Credit Commercial customers, including Ford Bill for Ford Credit and Ford Pro financing and subscriptions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related discipline
- At least five years of professional experience developing web applications
- Knowledge of front-end software technologies
- Experience working with cloud and digital platforms
- Experience with Lean and Agile methodologies
- Experience partnering with product managers, engineers, designers, and Quality Assurance teams
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript
- Experience using AI, including prompt handling and rendering AI-generated code
- Experience integrating LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Azure OpenAI
- Experience with front-end frameworks including React JS and Angular
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Tekton and Argo CD
- Familiarity with configuration tools such as Chef, Puppet, and Ansible
- Experience with source control management tools such as GitHub
- Experience with build tools including Maven and Ant
- Understanding of cloud architecture, security, platforms, and automation, ideally on Google Cloud Platform
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to contribute effectively to shared projects with diverse teams
- Ability to understand technical details and encourage collaboration
- Ability to learn and apply modern technologies quickly
