Description

  • Develop and maintain shared infrastructure that increases productivity for engineers and AI agents
  • Take roadmap initiatives from definition through delivery, using direct observation of engineers to guide improvements
  • Implement serialized, gated deployment workflows across services
  • Automate schema migrations with rollback support and create reliable staging-to-production promotion
  • Build dependable local and remote development environments, sandboxes, and preview or review environments
  • Create agent-oriented infrastructure, including MCP gateways, governance, cost controls, and foundation model selection
  • Manage infrastructure as code with Spacelift and OpenTofu, resolve drift, migrate DigitalOcean workloads to AWS, and define IaC standards
  • Set repository standards, ownership manifests, an ownership registry, and an internal developer portal
  • Establish observability foundations for tracing, logging, metrics, Datadog cost and hygiene, incident management, and status pages
  • Strengthen security and access through secrets and configuration management, SSO, IAM scoping, ECR scanning, audit logs, and vulnerability management
  • Run Numeric Labs so employees can build internal tools without independently solving authentication, hosting, and observability
  • Pair with engineers, observe onboarding, and surface friction through Slack

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of software engineering experience, including substantial work in infrastructure, platform engineering, or developer productivity
  • Practical confidence with AWS, infrastructure as code such as Terraform or OpenTofu, CI/CD systems, and Linux and container fundamentals
  • Strong general-purpose programming ability, primarily using TypeScript and Python when appropriate
  • Deep technical knowledge of AWS, containers and ECS, networking, and infrastructure as code
  • A product-oriented approach to developer experience
  • Willingness to build in-house solutions when appropriate and assess third-party tools
  • Experience with Spacelift or Atlantis, Datadog, Firetiger or Chronosphere, or GitHub Actions or Buildkite is a plus
  • Experience operating incident management, defining SLAs, and maintaining sites during very high traffic is a plus
  • Experience supporting contributors who are not engineers is a plus
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
